Notes from DOOM

DOOM’s notes on his crew’s Multiply account. Written on the back of a crumpled bus ticket I found in my bag.
INVASIAN Magazines

I finally met DOOM last Thursday (after much confusion with how, where and when we’ll meet) outside KFC SM, and he handed me my precious copies of INVASIANs (the first and current issues). Both are 100 pages and in full color although the paper used in each issue differs. Both magazines cost me P560. Second ish is costlier than 1st ish.

Globe Card and receipt

Reminders of :
1. How I almost cracked under pressure last Thursday after getting lobat while ironing miscom with DOOM and then failing to load this P100 Globe card I bought at the Information Center after three tries, and
2. How Globe sucks because of their “procedures”. The personnel at Globe told me that I could not load the card after three tries until I bring someone along with a Globe sim. The load will be sent to my friend-with-the-Globe-sim and then that friend will in turn share me the load. But I won’t be getting the exact P100 load by then because the Share-a-Load will cost me two pesos. It would have been okay if I wasn’t in a hurry to contact DOOM asap or if I had all the time to call and wait for a friend with a Globe sim or if I wasn’t lobat. I wanted to curse Globe in front of everybody in the Globe center but then I realized I had no more time to play diva so I told the Globe guy I’ll come back next time with a Globe friend and the above-posted things.
I have yet to claim the load. It’s been four days.
Raisin bread box

Another pre-Christmas gift from Ma’am Carmina and Sir Raffy. Above is the nice box which contained the scrumdiddlyumptuous raisin bread.
Sweet Christmas

Another gift that arrived today from the Campbells, the American family who live in the apartment right next to the museum. Mrs. Campbell and her three boys came to the museum this afternoon to personally give the gift. Inside the foil is a rectangular-sized banana cake Mrs. Campbell baked herself. Ma’am Wilma and I each had our share of the cake (This is probably cake day.) and I got to keep the candy cane
The Face

What came of an hour this afternoon trying to make a stencil of a Moro man’s photo on an illustration board. I cut the wrong holes so to make something out of the failed project, I used the cutter I rip the black skin off the illustration board to expose the paper beneath. Since I cut through several layers of paper, I got this effect.
Little Datebook

Another pre-Xmas gift that arrived today. The little datebook’s from Chinabank-Lanang. The gift is another answered desire. I had wanted to have a datebook (without having to buy one) to keep track of my activities. Now I can jot down my life’s happenings a la Chas Addams.
The Sum

What I paid for the clothes I bought at the MTS tiangge last night. (I went shopping there with Andi from 11pm to 12midnight.) This amount is the entire cost for a hooded jacket, a plain brown shirt, a long-sleeved, plain purple shirt and a white blouse that’s a bit bigger than me. The hoody was the most costly but I loved it a lot that I bought it. The hoody cost me P450. I wanted to buy a vintage ripped jeans from one stall but it was too tight for me so I ended up buying the plain shirts instead from the stall for P65 each. The shirts are good, light fabrics. Anyway, I had long planned on buying plain shirts so I could personalize them. And then I bought the white blouse for P120 (that was the last price) although it was a bit larger than me because it had a thick fabric that didn’t need ironing. And it’s been sometime that I’ve been hunting for a white blouse in the malls that would suit my taste but did not find any so I was glad to at least find something in the tiangge that I could wear after a just a few adjustments. Anyway, my goods were all ukay-ukay except for the hoody. Now that I think of it, I should have haggled. I must learn to haggle. Meanwhile, Andi got her pieces at a low prices because she haggled.
Milk and chocolate

The remains of a morning snacking on milk and a quarter of the white and dark chocolate kisses-topped chocolate cake Ma’am Wilma bought from Annie’s. She was supposed to buy me an Oreo pack and fresh milk but since there were no Oreos available at the nearest convenience store (she got me the fresh milk), she went to Annie’s instead to buy the alternative which turned out to be the better one. Although my share of the cake cost me more than a pack of Oreos the pleasure of eating it made me think the price was just right.
